Two decades of searching have ended for one Chinese family after reuniting with their son, taken as a child. The man’s father, Guo Gantang, incurred staggering debts as he scoured all over China for 24 years in hopes of finding his son, who was abducted as a two-year-old back in 1997.
“I thought maybe there is a ray of hope to find my son if I go out searching for him,” he said. “The kidnapper would never send back my son anyway; if I stayed at home, there was no chance.
So since the end of 1997, I began the search for my son.
Police have since arrested two people involved in the kidnapping.
