Australia can learn a ‘great deal’ from UK COVID strategy
Infectious Diseases Paediatrician Professor Robert Booy says a “great deal” Australia could learn from the United Kingdom’s COVID-19 strategy. Professor Booy said the UK’s management of the Delta strain and COVID-19, in general, could serve as a learning experience for Australia. We’re learning a great deal from the UK; they’ve experienced so much more disease and death,” he told Sky News.
However, he said, “while we can learn from them, we don’t want to emulate them.
They’re trying to show us how to live with the virus; we’re not sure we want to do that just yet.
If it ever got out of control, we’d learn how to live with it the way they have, but that’s at a cost.
