Australian Border Force monitors the Papua New Guinea coastline amid concern that Indonesia’s COVID-19 outbreak could leak into Australia.


In the Torres Strait, a Border Force Patrol boat watched the PNG coastline for signs of movement to catch anyone illegally trying to cross into Australia. There has been some difficulty determining whether vessels heading towards the border are doing so for fishing purposes or trying to enter the country illegally.
