Chauvin chooses not to testify in trial over George Floyd’s death

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has waived his right to testify at his trial as he faces charges of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and manslaughter over the death of George Floyd.

Chauvin instead chose to invoke his Fifth Amendment right.

The defense and prosecution have both rested, sending the case into the closing arguments phase.

The trial has been adjourned until Monday.
