Leaving the palace, the wife of Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex Sophie said the “the Queen had been amazing” in the wake of Prince Philip’s death, according to Sky News Reporter Ian Woods.
The Countess of Wessex was one of many Royal Family members who visited the palace to spend time with the Queen following the Duke of Edinburgh’s death aged 99. “It seems that the Queen by all accounts is bearing up well, and that’s certainly an indication she intends to carry on her position as much as possible in the coming days despite the loss of her husband of 73 years”. Prince Charles has been the only other member of the Royal family to speak and delivered a short public address this morning honoring his father. He thanked the public for their touching tributes to Prince Philip, saying the royal family misses him “enormously”.
