COVID-19 cases rise in 48 US states

Coronavirus cases have risen significantly in 48 of America’s 50 states, slowing vaccination rates. According to Johns Hopkins University, 30 states reported a more than 50 percent increase in cases.


Health officials have said the Delta variant has changed the face of the pandemic, and those who were previously infected are not immune to the strain. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the vaccination rate has slowed down, with just under 48 percent of the population fully vaccinated.
