Denmark becomes first country in the world to stop using AstraZeneca altogether

In another setback to AstraZeneca Denmark has become the first country in the world to stop using the vaccine altogether over blood clotting concerns.

This comes as the European Union announced plans to negotiate a massive contract extension for Pfizer’s COVID vaccine which will see the drug company provide an additional 50 million doses in the second quarter of the year.

The extra doses will make up for faltering deliveries by competitor AstraZeneca with the 27-nation bloc saying it needs to focus on companies which have shown their value.
