Disappearing submarine is a ‘chilling reminder’ of submariners bravery

Independent Senator Rex Patrick says it is likely the submarine that disappeared from the Bali coast is “sitting on the seafloor” in the Java Sea. “When a submarine is operating underwater whenever there is a problem the first reaction is normally to get to the surface, now the sorts of problems that would arise are things like flooding through to power failures,” he told Sky News.

Mr. Patrick said events like this are a “chilling reminder of how brave” submariners are and hope the submarine will be rescued. “What we hope for in all submarine rescue situations is that we have highly professional submariners involved, we have highly professional rescue services involved and a little bit of luck.”
