Eiffel Tower reopens to tourists

The Eiffel Tower has reopened to tourists for the first time in over nine months, marking the end of the longest shutdown since World War II.

The tower was closed in October due to France’s second wave of cases and will reopen as the country prepares to welcome international tourists back for summer.

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced mandatory vaccines for healthcare workers and COVID-19 passports to enter restaurants and other venues.
