Indonesia calls on Australia to help find missing submarine

Indonesian authorities are seeking assistance from Australia, Singapore, and India to find a missing submarine that vanished off the coast of Bali.

Over 50 people were reportedly on board the vessel, which is believed to have sunk 700 meters, although the German-made submarine is only built to sustain pressure at a maximum depth of 250 meters.

An oil spill was located near its dive location after it lost contact with the military during a torpedo drill, and the navy has suggested the oil spill means damage to the fuel tank may have been sustained.
