Prime Minister Scott Morrison says today is “another major milestone” as now the “Tasman is open” following the official commencement of the travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand.
“We have seen the Tasman open up and we welcome that,” Mr Morrison said during a press conference on Monday.
Mr Morrison said the trans-Tasman travel bubble is a “win-win” arrangement for Australia and New Zealand.
“I think this is going to be very important for the tourism and travel industry on both sides of the Tasman”.
“As well as the very practical issues of families being able to reconnect – there are so many connections between ourselves and our Kiwi cousins.”
