According to Trade Minister Dan Tehan, Australian and British trade negotiators will meet every Friday in anticipation of a new free trade deal to be signed in early June. Mr. Tehan has just returned from a trip to the UK, where he discussed vaccine protocols as well as continuing trade discussions.
Australia and the UK have been negotiating a free-trade deal after Britain left the European Union at the beginning of 2020. The trade minister told Sky News, the two nations are in the “last parts of the negotiation” and should be in a position to “ink a deal” in early June.
