UK launches anti-viral taskforce as PM warns of second COVID-19 wave
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has warned the United Kingdom will see another wave of the coronavirus this year but says the nation will have to learn to live with the disease. COVID-19 is being touted as a possible mechanism for managing the virus going forward with Mr Johnson saying the level of protection provided by vaccines remains unknown. We cannot delude ourselves that COVID has gone away. We don’t yet know the full extent of the security that we’re building up,” he said. At present 33 million people in the UK have received their first vaccination and 10 million have welcomed their second dose.
