United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said his levelling-up project is a win-win for the UK as it will benefit the whole country, not just recently-elected conservative areas.
He has made a promise for a plan for the nation beyond his COVID roadmap, but his message on equality has been dented by a recent football racism row.
Mr Johnson gave a speech in which he said: “I think that as a society what we need to do is understand that we’ve made progress in tackling racism”.
This received criticism from Opposition Leader Sir Keir Starmer who said “it’s all soundbite and no substance”, which is “absolutely typical of this Prime Minister”.
“He’s given a speech on levelling up, which has got nothing in it,” Mr Starmer said.
