Unrest and looting spreads in South Africa
South African police have clashed with crowds as the unrest and looting spreads after the incarceration of former President Jacob Zuma. Hardship and inequality are still prevalent in the country 27 years after the end of apartheid, adding to the anger.
Looters in the country are not afraid of the authorities as they destroy shops and businesses despite the police’s efforts. There has been pushback from the community as people attempt to save their workplaces, but the looters show no restraint.
