Vaccination ‘should not be a partisan issue’

Cypress College Political Science Professor Peter Mathews says, “Americans have to vaccination,” but says it is a “scientific issue” influenced by politics. “Americans have to accept vaccination; we started out with 30 percent adamantly refusing to accept it now it’s down to 20 something percent,” he told Sky News.

“People are learning that their friends and neighbors are getting vaccinated just fine, and they’re kept from getting the virus. Professor Mathews said the issue of not wanting to be vaccinated has a “certain ideological perspective to it,” and people should get vaccinated to eradicate COVID-19.

“Half of Republicans do not want to be vaccinated, over 90 percent of Democrats will, it should not be a partisan issue, this is a scientific issue, and it has to be done or other we’re not going to wipe this out completely.”
