WA reports one locally acquired case as state enters snap lockdown

Western Australia has reported one new locally transmitted case as the state enters a three-day snap lockdown after two positive infections were identified in the community.

The lockdown was sparked by a returned traveller who completed mandatory isolation before testing positive.

WA Premier Mark McGowan has attempted to foist the issue onto the federal government, calling on the prime minister to provide Commonwealth quarantine facilities.
